Ball Point Sketch - Ocean View

A weekend well utilized! :)
Am glad I finally sat down patiently to "create" something after so long!
Little differently than usual, this time what accompanied my venture was a "ball point pen".. ;)

Looking at the plain white sheet, myriad images had flashed through my mind - to try and sketch...
However, it was finally the "ocean" that triggered my mood...
Unlike the "look and draw" attempts I usually do,
this time ventured to explore and sketch an image totally out of imagination...
And I must say, the satisfaction we get to "create something out of the blue" is truly immense!

If I have to share my own opinion about the sketch,
I feel that if the man holding the umbrella had been omitted, the pic would have given a stronger appeal...:)
The man seems to have added a cartoon feel to the picture..:)
esp. with the umbrella that went little out of proportion...
Mainly since I dinn rely on an initial pencil sketch to go about this one...
and had straight away started  with the ball point pen...

However, I really enjoyed creating all those lovely waves in the ocean as well as the boulders 'n rocks...

Looking forward to know your opinions and suggestions...!!!

Fused bulb - Beautified!! ;)

A milky white fused bulb - that inspired my imagination!! :)

A Flower Vase - so full of Colors!!

This glass painting of a Flower vase is one of my favourites...
The reason being - the better finishing and an almost successful attempt at blending different color shades...
Though there is one thing that I feel sorry to have not included in this painting...

Can you make a guess, as to what that could be???  :)

Don't you think that adding few more leaves along the 2 flowers kept atop -
could have made this painting more complete??? :)
If this was not framed, I would have definitely looked forward to add them as well!!

The mighty Dinosaurs can also be "cute"... :)

Again, a school time creation...
The inspiration behind the cute Dinosaur is the "Denver - The Last Dinosaur" cartoon series..
that used to be enjoyed at times, during those days...:)

An Old Glass Painting Adventure with a Crane!

A school time glass painting that is kept framed at home!
When I visited home last time, thought about treasuring those efforts -  having them posted in Moonwalk!! :)

Ignoring the kiddish imperfections of a beginner,
altogether this painting has always appealed to my eyes...
Maybe its the charm of the Crane...or the rain clouds...or the colourful flowers... !!

Whenever I see my old works, my mind gets filled with guilt -
for not making time for these passions nowadays...
Waiting to enjoy the satisfaction that gets infused when we create and complete an art form, yet again...!!!

Are you a "Full Cup"?

If others don’t feel about U - the way U do,
spend some time to contemplate if what u “feel” is really true!!

If you still feel that you have been fair enough,
think once again to see if you had bothered
to express your feelings to the right people in the right way, anytime?

Once you start feeling “Yes” to this question as well, think again –
Whether the way you expressed your feelings were really "enough"
to satisfy the emotional needs of the specific person in question?

If you still feel yourself as "perfectly right”
without an ounce of “remorse” and the other person as “completely wrong”….
then beware - you just might be suffering from the “Full Cup Syndrome”!!

Empty your cup ...de-clutter your mind and try to think peacefully,
what the other person just might be trying to bring to your notice -
before jumping on to conclusions and worser still - "judgements"!

There could be new insights that you can probably gain by just loosening yourself
and putting yourself in the other person's shoes...!
Insights - that would not only change the way you conceived situations,
but insights - that could bring meaningful changes in other's lives as well..
Just because of the simple fact that you learned to "empty your cup"
and emerged as a more open self!!

Oman 2010 - World Fireworks Championship

   fsfds
The World Fireworks Championship 2010 Slideshow: Moon’s trip to Muscat, Oman was created by TripAdvisor. See another Muscat slideshow. Create your own stunning free slideshow from your travel photos.

2010 December had been a festive month in the Sultanate of Oman, with the 40th National Day Celebrations of the country on a roll!  The country celebrated the 40th year milestone of modern renaissance under the esteemed direction of
Sultan Qaboos Bin Said-Al Said in style...
The cities and streets were adorned with colourful lights & flags and vibrant with the high spirits of all the natives & residents!

Part of the celebrations were the "World Fireworks Championship" that gave way to a spectacular competition between the 5 top teams in the world -
1. Merlin (UK)
2. Lacroix-Ruggieri (France)
3. Panzera (Italy)
4. Vulcan (Hong Kong)
5. Zambelli Internationale (USA)

And the winner was the team from France - "Lacroix-Ruggieri"!!!
Have a look at a small part of the outstanding visual treat, they gifted us with.

Fireworks have always successfully brought out the child in me...The shrieks of joy and amusement when watching each of the new forms being displayed in the sky is something that evades the mental barriers formed as part of our "growing ages"...:)

This craze could very well be inherited from my dear Papa whom I have been seeing from my childhood chasing every chance to enjoy the fireworks display..:) Be it any nook or corner, if he gets a chance he would just go for it....and whenever could, I would also be taken with him to enjoy the thrill of it from even close distances.. :) When the "Big Bang" ones gets fired in the temple festivals, I remember pulling my papa's hands and running towards a safer distance when I was a small kid... :)

As the years have passed, the fireworks market have been growingly taken over by the Chinese products. But still, the mere excitement that even something as small as a "Poothiri" brings cannot be taken over by any of these sophisticated products...:)

This very blog is dedicated to all the fireworks lovers...!!!
Lets hope that sooner, new ways be discovered for the fireworks industry to flourish in a safe and more environment friendly manner!!

The Royal Touch!

Glass Paintings are one art form that I thoroughly enjoy exploring...Not an expert in it...But have always loved spending time with those glossy colors whenever I could!

This painting was my surprise parting gift for a dear friend (Tintu, am talking about U :->> ) when I had left Chennai in 2008. And what a thrill it was, when I quite unexpectedly spotted it displayed - right after my return to Chennai after all these years!! :)

Meet Mr. Jokomo - The Biceps Specialist! ;)

Mr. Jokomo is the outcome of my idiation about a Gym enthusiast - lazy to do anything other than the biceps workout ...!! Thats the reason why he looks the way he does... :->>

Its a simple scribble and draw attempt in paint brush...So there is absolutely nothing complex about it!!!

Been quite a while since tried something light as this....Am happy I finally got the push to do so...;)

The Reel of Times

Numb! Thats exactly how I feel,
Passing through this strange reel!
The reel of times - gobbling the peace of mind,
Like a fiend, so cruel 'n unkind!

Wish there were more light,
To show a way through this plight!
Wish, there was more strength,
To hold on to hopes - through its entire length!

Maybe, its all part of a tricky old game,
To show new meanings of life - not so lame!
A fresh perspective to look through,
Shared with intentions, so noble and true!
And take your soul to a greater height,
That lets you look down upon, with a gleaming might!

Only Daughter

Never ever my lord,
Bless someone with an "only" daughter
With the fate to board,
On to some distant land
Leaving the longing hearts of her parents,
Crave for her closeness every day, every moment!

A Reason To Live

Hardships are abundant, throughout one’s life,
Forcing to drift the mind, and take a deep dive –
Within the sieved darkness, drying up the desire to survive,
In a world left with mere despair and strife!
Just one reason to live,
Will help to take a stride and outlive -
All sorts of merciless barrage,
Infusing the inconceivable courage,
To move on in the journey called life!

Think of the mothers, who lost their son,
In battles that countries boast of having won.
They are left with nothing other than tears -
That burns the heart with painful flares.
Memories are but powerful steers,
To pull them out of their darkness and grieves.
Nurturing those memories will eventually give,
The strength to hold on and a reason to live!

Look at the mountains close-by,
Facing the extremes with their head high
God left them as examples for those who sigh,
To gather inspiration from and boldly live by!

Think of the orphans, who never saw their dear ones,
The unfortunates who never tasted life's innocent funs,
Life for them, is an emotional battle to live up to -
With no colorful memories to cling on to.
The desire to make a true identity,
Could rule their mind that scorns the pouring pity!
No wonder if this urge alone could pull,
The best in lives otherwise left dull.
And take them on a blistering drive,
So full of reasons to live and thrive!

Look at the sky, where stands the lonely Sun,
Spreading sunshine, accompanied by none.
Heed least - the thoughts of “How you are”,
It is “Who you are” that makes you shine like the mighty star!

WHY?

A little light seeps inside,
Through the window near my bedside!
At the knock of the beaming ray,
The doors of my eyes open the way!
Losing grip from the thread of dream,
In vain - the mind crave to stay with its vivid stream!

First to realize when the senses stuck,
Was a heavy heart, that kept pulling the reigns of thoughts…
To the reality that ripped the mind with a piercing tuck!

Until the night before, enjoying the blessings of being a “mother",
Life seemed heavenly, with hopes climbing up - till the skies!
And here I lie now, with an empty womb and eyes –
Swollen with beheld tears and aching sighs!
